Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 25, 2026
This Privacy Policy describes how HTML Viewer Pro (“we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, discloses, and protects information when you visit or use our website and online HTML viewer/editor (the “Service”). This policy applies to all visitors and users worldwide, including commercial and production use of the Service.
By using the Service, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of the Service.
1. Who we are
HTML Viewer Pro is a free, browser-based tool that lets you view, edit, format, validate, and preview HTML locally in your web browser. The Service is operated as a commercial website that may display third-party advertising to support free access.
2. Information we do not collect from the editor
Your HTML code is processed entirely on your device. When you type, paste, import, format, minify, validate, diff, export, or preview HTML using our editor:
- Your source code is not transmitted to our servers for processing, storage, or analysis.
- We do not operate a backend that receives or stores your documents.
- Preview rendering occurs in your browser via a sandboxed iframe.
- Optional auto-save uses your browser’s local storage only, on your device.
You can delete locally stored editor content at any time by clearing site data or local storage for this domain in your browser settings.
3. Information that may be collected automatically
Like most websites, when you visit the Service our hosting provider and integrated third-party services may automatically receive certain technical information, such as:
- IP address (which may be considered personal data in some jurisdictions)
- Browser type, version, and language
- Operating system and device type
- Referring/exit pages and URLs
- Date and time of access
- Pages viewed and general usage patterns
This information is typically collected in server logs or through analytics and advertising technologies described below. We use it to operate, secure, and improve the Service, measure traffic, and (where applicable) serve and measure advertisements.
4. Cookies and similar technologies
We and our partners may use cookies, web beacons, pixels, local storage (beyond editor content), and similar technologies for purposes including:
- Remembering your theme preference (light/dark mode)
- Remembering sidebar layout preferences
- Serving, personalizing, and measuring advertisements
- Fraud prevention and security
- Aggregated analytics and performance monitoring
You can control cookies through your browser settings. Disabling cookies may affect certain features (such as saved preferences) but will not prevent core editor functionality, which runs locally.
When you first visit the Service, a cookie consent banner lets you accept all cookies or reject non-essential cookies. Essential preferences (such as theme) are stored locally regardless; advertising and third-party measurement cookies are only used if you accept. You can change your choice anytime via the Cookies link in the site footer.
5. Google AdSense and advertising partners
The Service may display advertisements provided by Google AdSense or other advertising networks. These partners may use cookies and similar identifiers to:
- Serve ads based on your prior visits to this or other websites
- Measure ad performance and prevent invalid activity
- Limit how often you see an ad
Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your visit to this site and/or other sites on the Internet. You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings or aboutads.info (US) / Your Online Choices (EU).
For more information, see Google’s Privacy Policy at policies.google.com/privacy and Google’s advertising policies.
Commercial use note: If you operate a business and use this Service, ads may still be shown to you or your employees. Business use does not exempt the site from standard ad-serving practices unless you implement enterprise ad-blocking policies on your network.
6. Analytics
We may use privacy-oriented or mainstream analytics tools to understand aggregate traffic, page performance, and feature usage. Analytics data is generally collected in de-identified or aggregated form and is not linked to the HTML content you edit locally. Where required by law, we will obtain consent before using non-essential analytics cookies.
7. Third-party libraries
The Service includes open-source libraries (such as the Ace editor and HTML beautifier) that are hosted on the same domain as the Service. No third-party CDN is used for these core editor files. Optional services such as Google AdSense may still load resources from their own domains when configured.
8. Support and voluntary communications
If you contact us by email, through a support/tip link, or via social channels, we will receive the information you choose to provide (such as your email address, name, and message content). We use this solely to respond to your inquiry and maintain correspondence records as needed.
9. Legal bases for processing (EEA/UK users)
Where the GDPR or UK GDPR applies, we process personal data on the following bases:
- Legitimate interests: operating and securing the Service, analytics, fraud prevention, and non-intrusive advertising
- Consent: where required for non-essential cookies or marketing communications
- Legal obligation: where we must comply with applicable law
10. Data retention
- Editor content: retained only in your browser’s local storage until you clear it
- Server logs: retained for a limited period consistent with security and operational needs
- Support emails: retained as long as necessary to resolve inquiries and meet legal obligations
- Advertising/analytics data: retained according to each partner’s policies
11. International data transfers
Our hosting providers and third-party partners may process data in countries other than your own, including the United States. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent mechanisms.
12. Children’s privacy
The Service is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, please contact us so we can take appropriate steps.
13. Your privacy rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights to:
- Access, correct, or delete personal data we hold about you
- Object to or restrict certain processing
- Data portability
- Withdraw consent where processing is consent-based
- Lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority
To exercise these rights, contact us using the details below. We may need to verify your identity before responding.
California residents (CCPA/CPRA): We do not sell personal information as defined under California law. We do not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising in exchange for monetary consideration. You may still opt out of certain ad personalization via the links in Section 5.
14. Security
We implement reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures to protect information processed through the Service. However, no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. Because your HTML is processed locally, its security also depends on your device, browser, and network environment.
15. Do Not Track
Some browsers offer a “Do Not Track” (DNT) signal. There is no uniform industry standard for responding to DNT. We currently do not respond to DNT signals, but you may use the cookie controls described above.
16. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will reflect the latest revision. Material changes may be announced on the Service. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
17. Contact us
For privacy-related questions, data subject requests, or concerns about this policy, please contact us at the email address published on our main website or support page.
